State Champs – Round 9

So we’ve completed Round 9 of the State Championships, and now there will be a 2 week break over the school holidays with games resuming on Oct 8/Oct 10.  What’s exciting, is that our juniors will be starting up post school holidays also – so stay tuned for more info on the Sunday Junior Competition!

Just a few things to note this week :

  1. CHANGES TO TRAINING
Mon Sept 23 No junior training. Women/Yth and men from 7.30pm
Mon Sept 30 No junior training. Women/Yth and men from 7.30pm
Mon Oct 7 Normal training times resume : juniors and women from 7.30pm / men from 8pm
  2. FINALS ELIGIBILITY
Now is a good time to point out the rules about playing finals. The top 4 teams will play off. The finals are played over Sat/Tues/Thus/Sat – irrespective of what night your team usually plays. Your ladder position will determine the day. Players need to have played a MINIMUM of one third of their scheduled games. So if your team has 15 games fixtured, then you have to have already played 5 games to be eligible to play in a finals game. If you have byes in your draw you may (as an example) only have 12 fixtured games. So in that instance, you have to have played at least 4 games to be eligible to play in a finals game. All players need to be aware of the number of games they have played, if intending to play in finals.
