We have now completed Round 6 of the State Championships, with 9 games to go before finals action. That’s plenty of time for all our teams to inch their way into the top 4 ladder spots or cement their current positions. We are also just 5 weeks away from the start of the Sunday Junior Competition (details below), so it’s all happening as we head towards the end of the year.
Yes, we are still training at VU on Monday nights. There will be some modifications to times over the school holiday period, so stay tuned for that info soon. In the meantime, it’s 7.30pm for 12-14s and 8pm for everyone else!
SUB-JUNIOR COMPETITION (Sundays)
Water Polo Victoria have confirmed the Junior Competition will start on Sunday October 15. Games will be played at Hawthorn Aquatic and MelbHigh School between 9am-3pm. Age groups are 12 and under (born 2005 or later) as well as 14 and under (born 2003 or later). The competition takes a break from Dec 11, and resumes again on Feb 4, 2018 (in line with the school terms). Please confirm with Darren if your child wants to be included. All players will need to be registered well in advance of game 1. If your child has registered with and competed for Essendon previously, you will receive an email inviting you to re-register. If you are new to the club and haven’t played before, you can access a registration link on the WPV webpage (be sure to select Metro Clubs) :
As some of you will already know, former SL1/SL2 player Roslyn Jones-Umu gave birth to her first child recently, a beautiful daughter Amira Dawn Umu. She arrived just in time to celebrate fathers day with dad William. Congratulations on the addition to your family Ros and Will!
