Round 2 of the Vic Champs is now complete, and we are awaiting the release of the fixtures for subsequent rounds. Waterpolo Victoria and trying to ensure players participating in 2 games each night do not have time clashes. This is important for us, as many of our U16s back up to play in SL1, SL2 and SL3 games. With any luck, the full fixtures will be released over the weekend and you will be notified via email.
State Champs – Round 2
Team managers have now received a list of unfinancial players – who will not be allowed to participate in Round 3 games, unless they subsequently register/pay. WPV have had difficulties with the online system, so have been lenient in checking player regos for Rounds 1 and 2. Clubs will be fined and teams disqualified for breaches in registration for the remainder of this competiton, so please ensure you are paid up before next week, if you are yet to do so.
Essendon’s Madeleine Steere and Emily McGowen have flown out this week as part of the Australian born ’96 team who will compete in the Women’s FINA World Youth Waterpolo Championships in Madrid (Spain). The tournament will run from Aug 25-31 after some “friendlies” to acclimatise the Aussie team. We wish the girls and their team mates every success.
