VICTORIAN COUNTRY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
This event was held in Geelong, and representative sides from 7 Victorian regional areas participated in the men’s and women’s tournament. Our very own Leah Dodd playing with her Albury Sharks team (under the Oven’s & Murray banner) was runner up for the comp, but Leah walked away with the MPV award for the Championships! Congratulations to Leah on a great achievement.
VICTORIAN JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Ten clubs from Victoria competed in the junior state championships this year, fielding 30 teams across the various age groups and genders. Darren took a group of our U16 girls to Geelong to participate, and they put in a sterling performance to bring home Bronze! Well done girls on a great result!
VICTORIAN SEALS ON FIRE!
Both the men’s and women’s Vic Seals have started this year’s national competition in style, winning the inaugural beyondblue Cup. Both teams sit 3rd on their respective ladders, with 6 wins, one draw and one loss. Their next home-based games will be played in Wodonga on March 7 & 8. We can all stay at Rachel’s place for the weekend, to catch the action 😉
2015 FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Maddy Steere has been invited to attend the AIS training camp as part of Australia’s 2015 FINA world championship squad. The group of 19, will then be reduced to just 13 players, before heading off to Auckland in late April 28, for the preliminary rounds of the World Championships. If Australia are successful, they will play off in the final rounds in July-August. Congrats to Maddy – we hope she will be on her way to NZ soon!
